Event Type: LLC Continuing Ed Committee Workshop Date: 10/15/2009 Start Time: 9:00 AM End Time: 3:00 PM Description: Learn basic book repair from Kevin Driedger of the Library of Michigan where he works in cataloging and conservation. Kevin is also a part-time faculty memeber at Wayne State University. Cost: $25.00 for LLC Members. This workshop is open to LLC members only. Lunch on your own. Location: Georgetown Township Administration Bldg Registration Ends: 10/8/2009 at 5:00 PM Other Information: 1515 Baldwin Street, Jenison MI 49428 (located directly behind the Georgetown Township Library, parking at the rear of the building) Each participant must have a small tool kit which is necessary to complete the workshop repairs. The kits can be purchased from Talas Part #TTB149001 (Current price: $23.00). Each participant is required to purchase this tool kit prior to the workshop; it will not be supplied by the instructor. Each participant should also bring a pair of scissors, a ruler, 3 books (2 hardcover and 1 paperback) that are in reasonably good condition and can be damaged, or left with the instructor. These should not be from the library's collection. Participants may bring samples of damaged books from the library's collection to discuss during the workshop. Status: Waiting List
